The best cities to visit for foodies.

As a foodie, you’ll no doubt have sampled a wide range of tastes and cuisines, but there’s always room for more. How can a city be classed as a ‘foodie city’, though? Well, it must have a wide range of different cuisines and cultures on offer throughout the city. But what are the best foodie cities in the UK? Honestly, narrowing it down is pretty tricky - but here are our personal favourites.
Sheba Brick Lane Food 001

London.

It’s no secret that London is a hub of international flavour! It doesn’t matter whether you’re in the city centre, looking for a reliable chain restaurant to pop into after making use of our discount days out or are further afield and fancy trying one of the capital’s trendy independent restaurants. If you’re after dependable Italian restaurants like Zizzi or ASK Italian, you’ll find one on every corner, with menus to please everyone!

But if you’re really serious about experimenting with flavour, why not visit London’s Brick Lane? Brick Lane is home to endless Indian restaurants that don’t play around when it comes to spice! Take Sheba, for example, or even Masala - each promising deliciously authentic Indian plates.

Or if you’re looking for a fancy little spot to celebrate an occasion or take out that special someone, try Arros QD for Michelin-level flavours! This Spanish restaurant prides itself on its authentic wood-fired style of cooking and offers up endless irresistible options. With 25% off your total bill, there’s no excuse not to help yourself to a few extra tapas dishes.

Edinburgh.

From one capital city to another, Edinburgh boasts an impressive array of restaurants across the city! If you’ve never visited Edinburgh before, we couldn't recommend it more. Famous for its cobblestone streets and historic castle, Edinburgh is a stunning setting to settle down for a delicious meal, making it one of the best cities for food in the UK.

If you’re keen to visit a restaurant that’s equally as stunning as the city itself, you’re going to want to pay The Voodoo Rooms a visit. This sleek cocktail bar is recognised for its beautifully high ceilings, studded booths and delightful menu, of course! With live music, cabaret acts, exhibitions and more, The Voodoo Rooms are simply a must-visit in Edinburgh.

If you’re looking for a slightly more relaxed Edinburgh restaurant, The Blackbird is certain to make sure you feel at home. Stroll on down and choose from their selection of tasty sandwiches and small plates before tucking into a cheeky pint or two.

O Dwyers Ext 001

Dublin.

The third of our best cities to visit for foodies is Dublin. If you already live in Dublin but haven’t sampled its full range of cuisines then you’re missing out! The first restaurant we highly recommend is Kundan Tandoori. Each dish is made with passion and fuses spices, herbs, vegetables and meat to deliver a truly stunning evening of flavour. With a welcoming atmosphere and 50% off food with tastecard, it’s everything a foodie could ask for!

Or if you’re just visiting and fancy a truly Irish experience, few places compare to O’Dwyers Gastro Pub. Alcohol aside, O’dwyers offers a broad menu of options! Whether you fancy something from the grill, a taste of Asia or seafood, we’ve no doubts you’ll be impressed with the selection at this spot. Marrying the spirit of Ireland with a vast array of flavours, we couldn’t recommend O’dwyers more.

Amalia Italian restaurant Liverpool

Liverpool.

Home to a variety of delicious independent restaurants of a massive range of cuisines, Liverpool is one of the best cities to visit for foodies. If one thing’s for certain: Liverpool restaurants know a thing or two about treating their guests to a boujee night to remember in the city. Take Amalia, for example. This classy little spot is popular amongst locals for its award-winning take on Italian cuisine. Similar can be said for Neopolitan, a contemporary pizza joint that honours the tradition of woodfire pizzas and flavourful gelato!

If you’d prefer a taste of Southeast Asia, however, we’ll point you in the direction of Mamasan. With truly stunning decor and an irresistibly unique menu, this Asian restaurant is a fantastic place to celebrate a birthday or even an anniversary. If these restaurants are anything to go off, Liverpool is one of the best foodie cities for people who like to make an event out of dining out!
